A Wink and a Smile
Who wouldn't wanted to be greeted every morning by a handsome, young man with wink and a smile? Robbie is that little man! Robbie became a part of the Almost Home family over a year ago! That is along time to look for a forever home. He is a stunning example of a Shih Tzu. 3 years old, well behaved, house trained, and very affectionate. So what is holding him back? His foster family thinks it may be the wink. You see, Robbie winks because he lost his eye last spring. When he was found as a stray he was dirty, and matted. After the vet began cleaning him and trimming away the mats, they discovered a cockle burr embedded in Robbie's eye. After removing the burr, it was later discovered that he was losing his vision and suffering painfully from the damage. The best solution for Robbie was to remove the eye and stich it shut, leaving him winking, but happy! No more pain! No more distorted vision! At last Robbie could leave behind the constant reminder of those troubled times and become the best pet he could be. Robbie is both house trained, and crate trained. He would be the ideal dog for a single person or older couple. A gentle lap dog, he would be a treat to have around in a quiet household looking for companionship. He deserves to have a potential adopter look past the "disability" of losing his eye, and embrace his ability to capture your heart!
